Our Story

Why Abba?

Abba…you mean that Swedish band from the 70s that sang Dancing Queen?

No. 🙂

Abba is the Aramaic word for “father.”

In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 6, Jesus used this word to speak to his Father and commanded us to use this word when referring to God.  In Paul’s Letter to the Romans, chapter 8, verse 15, we hear “For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, “Abba, Father!”

Abba Healing Services was born out of my own experience of psychological and spiritual healing.  After reflecting intently on the parable of the Prodigal Son and praying for God’s grace and courage, I determined that I needed to reconnect with my dad who had been absent from my life for 24 years.  Although I am continuing to process these graces, I became convinced that others needed to experience healing through the convergence of the spiritual and psychological.  Since my own experience of healing came through God the Father, it is my mission to bring others into an encounter of healing through our Abba.

For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received a spirit of adoption, through which we cry, “Abba, Father!”

Let's get started.
